September 2026 UK applicants only no sponsorship available About the Role As an SEN Teacher , youll create an engaging, inclusive classroom where every pupil feels safe, valued and motivated to learn. Youll plan and deliver creative, individualised lessons, and work alongside teaching assistants, therapists, families and the wider school team to support pupils academic progress as well as their social and emotional development .

Youll also have the opportunity to take on Form Tutor responsibilities, guiding a small team around your pupils to ensure they receive the personalised support they need to succeed. What youll be doing Deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SEN and SEMH. Create a positive, nurturing classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence and outstanding behaviour. Assess, monitor and track progress, using information to shape planning and interventions.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, therapists and families to achieve the best outcomes for every pupil. Support social, emotional and personal development while promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing. Contribute to the wider life of the school, including pastoral support, EHCP reviews, parent communication and ongoing improvement. What youll bring QTS/QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues and work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team. Resilience, adaptability and calm confidence, with strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills. Experience in SEN, SEMH or specialist education is desirable, but not essentialyour teaching ability and commitment are what matter most. Driving licence required. About Us Underley Garden School is a large school with small class sizes, focusing on pupils, aged 5-19, who have a range of complex needs associated with autism and learning disabilities, including complex communication, sensory and behavioural needs associated with their disabilities.
