We’re looking for passionate and dedicated School Officer
- Assisting Student Learning to work in a fixed term, term time capacity completing 27.5 hours per week. This position commences on 27 January 2027 and concludes on 3 December 2027.

In this role, you’ll nurture curiosity and a love of learning by providing hands‑on support in the classroom, assisting students with their individual learning goals, and helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. With patience, empathy, and understanding, you’ll build strong connections with students - supporting their confidence and wellbeing as they learn and grow. You’ll work closely with teachers to monitor progress, celebrate achievements, and provide meaningful feedback that encourages each learner to thrive.

Guided by Catholic values, you’ll embrace the school’s mission, prioritise student safety and wellbeing, and help create a welcoming, supportive environment where every learner feels they belong.

In the heart of the Burdekin region, Ayr offers the charm of a friendly country town with the bonus of being just a short drive from the coast. Surrounded by fertile farmland and close to the warm waters of the Coral Sea, it’s a place where you can enjoy a relaxed pace of life alongside a strong, welcoming community. With easy access to tropical beaches, nearby fishing spots, and the famous Burdekin River, Ayr blends country hospitality with coastal living, making it a rewarding place to live and work.

Townsville Catholic Education has standards of conduct for workers to maintain a safe and healthy environment for children. Our commitment to these standards requires that we conduct working with children checks and background referencing for all staff. The organisation is fully committed to child safety and has a zero tolerance to abuse of children or adults‑at‑risk.

The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government.
