The Role

The post holder will assist the Senior Charge Midwife in the overall delivery of high quality safe, effective evidence based woman and baby centred care. They will be involved in providing both individualized patient care and in planning, implementing and evaluating clinical care within all areas of the neonatal unit, ensuring compliance with NHS Lanarkshire’s policy and procedures and maintaining statutory requirements in accordance with the NMC.

In

this key role, you will:
  • Plan, assess, develop, implement and evaluate planned programmes of care for the ill and premature neonate in intensive care, high dependency and specialist care.
  • Be an advocate for women, the neonate and their families.
  • Provide a health education role for women, their partners and extended families.
  • Set and maintain standards of care.
What You’ll Bring :
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
  • Educated to / working towards / operating at Degree Level.
  • Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
