PositionAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapy Service Manager based at Ailsa Hospital. This post is offered on a fixed-term basis until March 2027.
Hours36 hours per week.
UK Driving LicenceA UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What you will do- To take a lead role in the integration of Occupational Therapy Services within an agreed Health and Social Care Partnership.
- To provide Occupational Therapy professional advice and support to Acute AHP staff and Acute Senior Management Team and other national and local service provision where need is identified.
- To be responsible for organising the effective delivery and development of Occupational Therapy Teams within an agreed Health and Social Care Partnership by providing professional clinical leadership, supervision and line management.
- To strategically lead the provision of specialist occupational therapy assessment and treatment within a range of environments across Ayrshire & Arran. To be involved in the learning and development and/or delivery of clinical occupational therapy interventions.
- To represent the specialist contribution of Occupational Therapy Services in a range of multi‑disciplinary/multi‑agency forums at local and national level to support the strategic planning of agreed Service areas, communicating complex and at times contentious information which relates to service delivery.
- To ensure systems that support Clinical Governance and Performance Management are operating effectively within the agreed Service area.
- To hold a delegated budget and ensure the most effective use of financial resources.
- To undertake and ensure clinical audit and research activities are completed across the occupational therapy service.
- To act as alternating Chair of the Occupational Therapy (OT) profession Uni‑Professional Development Group and be the nominated Occupational Therapy representative on the AHP Workforce, Risk and Governance Group.
- To be responsible for organising the effective delivery of Occupational Therapy Services by providing professional clinical leadership, supervision and line management for an agreed number of Occupational Therapy Staff within Ayrshire & Arran.
- To be responsible for ensuring standards of clinical and line management supervision are in place and audited across occupational therapy service delivery.
- To be involved in the learning and development and/or delivery of specialist and complex clinical occupational therapy assessment and treatment interventions.
- To manage a delegated budget for the occupational therapy service.
To work in the United Kingdom, you must have the right to work in the UK or the post must be eligible for sponsorship. NHS Ayrshire & Arran may offer visa sponsorship for certain roles, subject to salary threshold. Sponsorship is assessed on a case‑by‑case basis following interview and at the commencement of pre‑employment checks.
