PositionAn opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and flexible individual to join the Moving and Handling Team where you will assist in the delivery of all aspects of the service across the organisation. (Utilising Annex 21 conditions – this can be discussed at interview) based at Ailsa Hospital. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
Hours36 hours per week.
Right to Work and SponsorshipTo work in the United Kingdom, a legal right to work is required. You must have or be eligible for a UK driving licence. Sponsorship may be offered for certain roles that meet the minimum salary threshold and other criteria; it is assessed on a case‑by‑case basis following interview and pre‑employment checks.
What You Will DoYou will have a relevant healthcare qualification (e.g. Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy) with a substantive post‑registration experience, including in a range of challenging patient handling settings. You will have been responsible for planning patient care and have had previous involvement in training delivery. Training and assessing handler competence is essential to this role, so you must have excellent communication skills and be capable of demonstrating good handling practice as a requirement of national competency standards.
Knowledge,Training and Experience Required
- Previous attendance on an instructor/key worker course in Moving and Handling patients is essential.
- Evidence of further development towards the Scottish Manual Handling Passport competency criteria for manual handling roles is desirable.
- Computer literate, able to prepare reports and presentations to a high standard using Microsoft Office packages.
A UK driving licence is essential for this post.
