Medical Receptionist
Hours: 27 hours over 3 days
Salary: Wage dependant on experience

Due to retirement we are seeking a friendly, organised and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to join our busy GP Practice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients in person and responding to telephone calls courteously and efficiently
• Booking, amending and cancelling appointments using the clinical system
• Managing patient queries and signposting appropriately
• Handling correspondence, prescriptions and general administrative duties
• Workflow optimisation via Docman system
• Supporting clinicians and colleagues as part of a collaborative practice team
• Adhering to confidentiality, GDPR and practice policies at all times

About You

• Previous experience in a GP practice or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential
• Excellent telephone skills and accurate note taking and communication skills to ensure a smooth day-to-day handover
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confident using computer systems (experience with clinical systems is advantageous)
• Confident using Windows and Outlook
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment
• Commitment to patient care and confidentiality
• Reliable and flexible to cover during periods of annual leave and sickness
