A vacancy has arisen for a Plant Machinery Cleaner to join our team within our operations and cleaning of a Biomass handling & storage facility contract at the Port of Tyne.

The Plant Machinery Cleaner role exists to undertake the Industrial Cleaning of plant and equipment via hose pipes for washing and compressed air lines for blow down.

Hargreaves Industrial Services provide an operation, and cleaning service to our client at the Port of Tyne Biomass handling facility.

We are responsible for the safe movements and handling of Biomass following discharge from vessels and the dispatch of loaded rail wagons within the Port.

• Wash/Blow down cleaning of Operational plant and equipment
• Ensure cleaning area is maintained to a clean standard
• Record cleaning tasks on VEHOCHECK for compliance
• Understanding of Safe Working Procedures
• Attend any meetings or training sessions as required
• Any other related cleaning duties as requested by the Manager
• The ideal candidate will be a good communicator and must have a good understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace
• The successful candidate will also be required to support secondary roles within the operation – Examples below (training will be provided)
  • General industrial cleaning of the operational areas
  • Train loading/watchman
  • FEL operations
  • Hopper operations
  • Biomass material condition monitoring

• IOSHH working safely (Min standard – training given)
• Experience of industrial cleaning within a materials handling environment
• Previous experience working within a Biomass handling environment (Desirable)
• xperience with using fixed and portable vacuum systemsCOMPEX training desirable however training will be available
• Positive attitude to safety
• Work at Height using MEWP
• Able to undertake duties involving heavy manual labour
• Able to communicate well at all levels
• Flexible approach to work
• A strong team player
• Ability to work independently and on own initiative
• Good time keeping and willing to work overtime as necessary
• Able to share knowledge and skills with other Hargreaves personnel
• Ability to populate, use and keep documented records as part of the role
