Job Summary
As a Senior Fundraiser at the Ayrshire Hospice you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring we maximise our income and maintain the highest standards of donor and supporter care. Your work will be instrumental in enabling us to continue to provide specialist palliative care and services to people and families affected by life shortening illness across Ayrshire and Arran.
As a Senior Fundraiser – Individual Giving you will work collaboratively with other fundraisers managing and supporting a key range of individual giving fundraising initiatives, including a committed giving scheme, fundraising campaigns, the hospice lottery, legacies and trust and grants.
Supported by the Fundraising Manager and Senior Fundraising Manager, you will develop and shape this area of fundraising, including creating new products and stewardship plans, resulting in the engagement, development and retention of supporters.
Duties and Key responsibilities- To lead, promote, project-manage, deliver and evaluate a robust program of fundraising activities including
- Trust and Grant applications
- Lottery
- Legacy and Make a Will Campaigns
- Regular and ad-hoc individual giving
- To provide excellent donor care to supporters in order to develop productive and lasting relationships, inspiring supporters, both new and existing, to engage with us and raise funds for the Hospice.
- Represent the organisation and uphold the organisation’s reputation and value.
- Plan, manage and co-ordinate aspects of delegated fundraising campaigns, including direct mail appeals.
- Support the development of a donor acquisition and legacy pledger stewardship programme.
- Analyse performance data from direct mail appeals and donor acquisition activities. Deliver routine reports to the Fundraising Manager on performance against agreed performance indicators for each activity.
- Maximise the level of gift aid generated across the range of individual giving programmes and unsolicited individual donations.
- Work closely with the communications team to identify opportunities to inspire and recruit new supporters.
- Develop and Report on relevant KPIs and Metrics.
- Work closely with fundraising colleagues to ensure all fundraising activities are fully supported.
- Work closely with colleagues across the Hospice for the benefit of our supporters.
- Ensure compliance with the Hospice policies and procedures.
- To be flexible within the broad remit of the post and represent the hospice at key events & activities as directed by the Senior Fundraising Manager.
- Higher National Certificate or SVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject — Desirable (Assessed at Application)
- Relevant experience in a similar role — Desirable (Assessed at Application)
- Experience in a direct marketing, fundraising, or customer service role, including face-to-face interaction and building positive customer relationships — Essential (Assessed at Application/Interview)
- Strong working knowledge of CRM databases — Essential (Assessed at Application/Interview)
- Knowledge of fundraising regulations and best practices — Essential (Assessed at Application/Interview)
- Knowledge of law relating to wills, including legal terminology and experience working with or alongside the legal or trust profession — Desirable (Assessed at Application/Interview)
- Knowledge of the Trusts & Grants sector with a clear understanding of terminology — Desirable (Assessed at Application/Interview)
- Direct experience of working with or engaging with Trusts & Foundations — Essential (Assessed at Application)
- Understanding of donor acquisition and retention strategies — Desirable (Assessed at Application/Interview)
- Microsoft Office skills — Essential (Assessed at Application/Interview)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently to a range of audiences — Essential (Assessed at Application/Interview)
