Position Purpose
This position exists to strengthen the Cooperative's financial decision-making through forward‑looking analysis, financial modeling, and disciplined evaluation of alternatives. The Senior Financial Analyst develops and maintains long‑range financial models, with particular emphasis on CFC Compass/Compass Pro and related CFC financial tools, and translates complex financial information into practical recommendations for leadership. Purpose:
This position exists to strengthen the Cooperative's financial decision‑making through forward‑looking analysis, financial modeling, and disciplined evaluation of alternatives. The Senior Financial Analyst develops and maintains long‑range financial models, with particular emphasis on CFC Compass/Compass Pro and related CFC financial tools, and translates complex financial information into practical recommendations for leadership. This is a Finance role focused on forecasting, scenario analysis, capital planning, debt strategy, rates, liquidity, and financial stewardship-not transactional accounting.
Dimensions
Internal Responsibility
- Serves as a highly analytical individual contributor within Finance. Partners with the Controller, Vice President of Finance, and other leaders to develop reliable financial forecasts, evaluate major financial decisions, and improve the Cooperative's ability to understand the long‑term consequences of current decisions.
External Responsibility
- Works effectively with CFC and other lenders, financial advisors, auditors, consultants, and industry resources as needed to ensure TCEC's modeling assumptions, financing alternatives, and financial practices reflect reasonable electric cooperative best practices.
- Owns, develops, and maintains TCEC's CFC Compass/Compass Pro financial model and becomes the Cooperative's internal subject‑matter resource for CFC financial modeling tools.
- Builds and maintains credible long‑range financial forecasts integrating load and member growth, revenues, rates and riders, operating expenses, capital requirements, debt service, liquidity, equity, and other significant financial assumptions.
- Develops scenario and sensitivity analyses that clearly compare financial alternatives and identify the member impact, risks, tradeoffs, and long‑term consequences of major decisions.
- Provides financial analysis supporting debt strategy, refinancing opportunities, debt repayment, borrowing alternatives, interest expense, lender requirements, and the appropriate use of cash versus financing.
- Partners with CFC to develop TCEC's initial Compass model, validate assumptions and outputs, and build internal expertise so the Cooperative can independently understand, challenge, and maintain the model.
- Supports rate, rider, and revenue analysis, including the financial effects of growth, changing energy sales, capital requirements, debt obligations, and alternative repayment strategies.
- Analyzes capital plans, construction work plans, facilities, reliability investments, ROW, line inspections, and other significant initiatives to help leadership understand affordability, timing, cash requirements, and financing implications.
- Produces concise financial dashboards, forecasts, presentations, and decision materials for the Controller, Vice President of Finance, President & Chief Executive Officer, and lenders.
