Azusa USD In-Person Tutors Referral

Overview

Hey Tutor has partnered with a school district in Azusa to hire tutors who can assist elementary students in math and ELA during regular school hours. You will work with students from K to 5th grade, actively supervising and helping them catch up on learning gaps from the past school year. A background check is required for in-person work.

• Work with groups of students in a classroom setting, without the direct support of a teacher or school site staff.
• Prepare the area to start tutoring sessions.
• May be responsible for picking up and dropping off students from designated areas on the school site.
• Take attendance and run lessons through the Hey Tutor Dashboard (if applicable).
• Document student progress in the Hey Tutor Dashboard.
• Facilitate baseline and summative assessments when requested by the manager.
• Lead tutoring sessions using curriculum and materials provided by the program.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging for students.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices.
• Engage with tutoring lessons alongside the students.
• Clock in and out of Deputy for shifts.
• Perform any other duties as required by the Company, your manager, and/or the school site.

Must be available between 7:30 am and 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

• Spanish bilingual is a plus.
• Must have completed an AA or higher, or be currently enrolled in college/university.
• Tutoring experience; comfortable working with kids.
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting.
• Clear FBI-DOJ background check (provided through Hey Tutor).
• COVID-19 vaccination.

$18-23 per hour. Pay depends on education and experience and will be determined at the time of the interview.
