This person will lead the forge crew in the forging operations. They will help direct the crew in forging, moving and loading material in furnaces, scheduling orders, and will work with other departments to coordinate the movement of material throughout the plant.

• Lead forge crew to forge material on presses and rolling mill
• Read and understand forge instructions and notes and translate to press operation
• Identify material and maintain identification throughout the forge process
• Assist in loading and unloading of material in furnaces
• Drive manipulators for advanced material movement in and out of furnaces and around press equipment
• Perform other related duties as requested
• Understand how different metals forge and act
• Understand overall material manufacturing processes
• Read and accurately measure using calipers and other instruments

• Perform basic math to determine stop points, shrink factors, tolerance
• Handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly

• Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license
• Pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test
