This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of heavy equipment in a crushed stone or sand and gravel quarry environment. The Multi‑Skilled Equipment Operator will demonstrate proficiency in operating loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and other equipment as needed to support quarry operations and achieve production goals.

• Serves as a subject matter expert and resource for other operators.
• Act as a high‑performing operator as a contributor to key decisions.
• Leads by example, demonstrating safe and efficient work practices.
• Ability to assess operational challenges, evaluate potential solutions, determine the best decision, and implement.
• Provides guidance and training to less experienced operators.
• May assist with task assignments and workflow optimization.
• Plays a key role in maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

• Must be willing to work overtime and travel to different operations depending on company demands.
• Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
• Physical ability to operate heavy machinery for extended periods.

• Equipment Operation – Proficiency in operating large loaders with ability to accurately and smoothly maneuver and complete various tasks, such as loading, dumping, and transporting materials. Skill in handling attachments and understanding their applications.
• Safety Awareness – Ability to recognize, understand, and adhere to safety protocols and procedures in the workplace; proactive in identifying potential hazards, taking steps to mitigate risks, and ensuring that both personal and collective safety are maintained in all tasks and environments.
• Technical Expertise – Solid mechanical understanding of mobile equipment, including basic maintenance checks and troubleshooting minor issues. Ability to identify signs of equipment malfunction, understand and report them to the maintenance team.
• Problem Solving – Identify, analyze, and resolve work‑related issues efficiently and effectively using practical knowledge, experience, and hands‑on skills. Finds practical solutions, implements fixes, and adapts to unexpected challenges.
• Teamwork – Ability to effectively work as a part of a team, coordinating with other operators, dispatch/scale house and ground personnel.
• Adaptability – Adapts to new conditions, is flexible and open‑mind when facing challenges, and maintains high performance during change.

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Trade school diploma or certificate in equipment operation is highly desired.

• 6+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in a quarry environment.
• Demonstrates exceptional skill and expertise in operating a wide range of equipment.
• Possesses a comprehensive understanding of quarry operations and safety regulations.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.

• A strong commitment to safety protocols and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
• Familiarity with equipment controls and operation techniques.
• Adapt to various equipment and project types, demonstrating versatility in handling different tasks and machinery.
