Ampegon Power Electronics AG, part of Cocchi Technologies, is looking for a Testing Engineer to join the Testing R&D Department in Kleindöttingen (Böttstein), Switzerland. The role focuses on validating, troubleshooting and optimizing advanced power electronics and RF systems, ensuring quality, reliability and performance throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Perform incoming inspection of electronic components and materials to ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality standards
- Execute functional, electrical and full‑power testing of PCBs, assemblies and complete systems
- Diagnose failures, troubleshoot issues and perform electronic repairs, including soldering and component replacement
- Support commissioning activities, system validation and acceptance testing
- Develop and continuously improve test procedures, work instructions and technical documentation
- Define test requirements and contribute to new testing methodologies in collaboration with R&D Engineering
- Design, assemble and optimize test setups and laboratory fixtures
- Plan and manage testing activities autonomously while coordinating priorities with Engineering
- Act as technical interface with Procurement on supplier quality topics and incoming inspections
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with customers, presenting results and collaborating with Engineering and Project Management
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration, accuracy and compliance with quality standards
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering
- 4-5 years of experience in testing electronic equipment, preferably within power electronics
- Experience working in R&D or industrial testing laboratories
- Fluent German and English (written and spoken)
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits and measurement techniques
- Hands‑on experience with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, spectrum analyzers, RF power meters and power analyzers
- Experience with PCB testing, diagnostics and electronic repair
- Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
- Understanding of low‑voltage systems, power flow and electrical safety principles
- Knowledge of RF systems and power engineering is a strong plus
