In this role, you will take ownership of the release of series components in a structured PPAP‑like environment and help shape robust and sustainable supplier processes in serial production. Working at the interface of quality, engineering, technical purchasing, and incoming goods inspection, you will assess supplier manufacturing processes, identify and mitigate risks, and drive effective quality assurance measures throughout the release phase and beyond.

This position is particularly suited to candidates with experience in the automotive industry or a comparable manufacturing environment who bring strong PPAP expertise, technical depth, and a structured approach to supplier quality. Reporting to the Team Lead SCM Quality, you will play a key role in improving supplier performance, strengthening product quality, and driving cross‑functional collaboration across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, review, and release supplier production processes within a structured series release and PPAP‑like environment.
  • Assess supplier manufacturing processes, evaluate risks, and define sustainable improvement measures.
  • Review and challenge FMEAs, control plans, inspection plans, process flows, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support suppliers through sample approval and series release with clear guidance and professional challenge.
  • Perform on‑site supplier process assessments, requalification, and risk evaluations.
  • Evaluate process robustness, serial capability, and effectiveness of control measures.
  • Ensure part quality in close collaboration with Engineering, Technical Purchasing, and Incoming Goods Inspection.
  • Actively involve relevant stakeholders and ensure cross‑functional alignment.
  • Lead and support initiatives to improve supplier processes and product quality.
  • Analyze quality KPIs and derive targeted improvement actions.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the SCM Quality organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable technical field.
  • Several years of experience in supplier or production quality, preferably in the automotive or a comparable industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Solid hands‑on experience with PPAP, APQP, and structured series release processes.
  • Strong knowledge of quality methods and tools (e.g., FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP).
  • Experience with mechanical components such as cast iron or machined parts; turbocharger‑related experience is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001; knowledge of IATF 16949 is an advantage.
  • Experience with supplier audits and process validations is a plus.
  • Good SAP and MS Office skills;
    Lean Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.
  • Structured, proactive, and hands‑on working style with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working in cross‑functional and international teams.
  • Very good German and English skills, spoken and written.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to 20%).
