CMbE Carnaud Metalbox Engineering (CMbE) designs, develops and manufactures high‑performance metal forming and finishing machinery for the production of beverage, food and aerosol cans. It is part of Crown Holdings and works in a multi‑cultural, sustainable environment.

We are looking for a Machinist to join our Machine Shop team in Shipley, West Yorkshire, working the triple shift pattern.

• Operating machine tools to manufacture engineering components, ensuring parts meet required standards and specifications.
• Auditing areas to meet company 6S standards, operating and setting machinery safely and efficiently.
• Replacing and monitoring cutting tools, delivering thorough end‑of‑shift handovers.
• Providing on‑the‑job training to apprentices and new employees.
• Participating in non‑conformance investigations using techniques such as 5‑Whys and 8‑Disciplines (5Y/8D) and documenting relevant data.
• Communicating effectively with colleagues across shifts.

• Apprentice trained engineer (NVQ3 or equivalent) or similar mechanical/technical flexibility.
• Experience with manufacturing small batch complex components.
• Knowledge of Mazak, Heidenhain or Fanuc controls is desirable but not essential.
• Strong working knowledge of manufacturing standards and ability to work unsupervised.
