Business Development Manager – FMCG / Confectionery
£35,000 – £50,000 + Company Car or Car Allowance
Field-Based – Bradford, Yorkshire & Surrounding Areas
We’re supporting a well‑established Sweets Manufacturer in Bradford in their search for an experienced Business Development Manager
. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing FMCG business known for producing high‑quality confectionery products supplied across the UK.
This role combines Key Account Management with New Business Development
, managing some of the company’s top customer accounts while also identifying and securing new opportunities across multiple channels.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving growth across the Distributor, Wholesaler, Retail, and Commercial sectors. This is a field‑based role covering Yorkshire and the surrounding regions.
Key Responsibilities- Managing and developing several of the company's top key accounts
- Growing existing customer accounts through strategic account planning
- Prospecting, pitching, and securing new business opportunities
- Selling confectionery and sweet goods into distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and commercial customers
- Identifying category opportunities and supporting product growth
- Regular face‑to‑face customer visits across Yorkshire and surrounding areas
- Maintaining accurate CRM updates and reporting into senior management
- Proven Sales experience within FMCG
- Experience with in confectionery, sweet goods, or food sales is highly desirable, but not essential
- Background selling into distribution, wholesale, and retail would be a strong advantage
- Strong Key Account Management experience, particularly with high‑value customers
- A relationship‑builder with strong commercial awareness
- Highly self‑motivated, organised, and confident in a field‑based environment
- Full UK driving licence
- £35,000 – £50,000 basic salary (DOE)
- Company car or car allowance
- Field‑based role with autonomy and flexibility
