Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Accountant is to perform a variety of complex accounting activities, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The Accountant monitors branch activity and corrects errors and out-of-balance conditions; handles a variety of bookkeeping duties related to payment processing; assists in managing accounting functions, internal controls, subsidiary records, and activities affecting the general ledger and loan accounting system.

The Accountant functions under minimal supervision, using a certain degree of analysis and judgment.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting and/or experience equivalent to the degree
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent skills in both written and verbal communications
  • Ability to work independently in a a fast pace environment with the demonstrated ability to take initiative, establish priorities, work under time pressures, meet deadlines, and exercise independent judgment
  • Understanding of accounting practices, systems, and processes
  • Understanding of banking practices and loan accounting systems
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the regions, district and nationally
