Summary of Position

The Senior Director of Operations is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our Bainbridge, GA facility. This position oversees, monitors, evaluates, and directs the operational performance of the facility. The Senior Director of Operations leads, guides, evaluates, and develops a team of production and warehouse managers and supervisors to ensure JBSS achieves its business objectives and complies with all relevant regulations and laws, particularly those related to food quality and employee safety.

Functions of the Position

• Leads and directs production, safety, maintenance, sanitation, materials management, distribution (some facilities only), and administrative staff (some facilities only) to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations. Identifies training opportunities and evaluates performance of operations/plant managers and supervisors.
• Responsible for facility compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements.
• Partners with key managers to ensure goals are set and achieved in production, quality control, sanitation, customer service levels, and continuous improvement activities.
• Manages implementation of the production plan and ensures ongoing manufacture of products in planned quantities, at budgeted cost, and of desired quality.
• Evaluates current operational processes, identifies improvement opportunities, and implements changes to increase efficiency and overall profitability.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in Production Management or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience managing production operations within the food industry.
• Broad knowledge of production, safety, equipment maintenance, scheduling, sanitation, warehousing, and quality control.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• HACCP certification.

Skills and Competencies

• Demonstrated leadership, management, and administrative skills.
• Strong flexibility to adapt to customer needs, seasonal demands, and staffing requirements.
