Shaw Industries is looking for a Compounding Operator to operate all compounding extrusion systems and PET processing equipment at posted process specifications while ensuring quality color products meet requirements.
Responsibilities- Operate compounding extrusion systems and PET processing equipment to maintain product quality and specifications.
- Ensure finished product is free of contamination and matches required color shade, pellet form and size.
- Record operating conditions at shift start, hourly, and upon condition changes.
- Perform screen pack changes, color changes, and purging to keep extruder back pressure within specifications.
- Blend additives accurately, verify labels, color, and premix sheet, and report discrepancies to management.
- Maintain and calibrate online blender and weigh hoppers; install correct gearbox/auger/sleeve combinations.
- Assist with color changes on other lines and perform pellet count tests.
- Troubleshoot processing problems and perform minor mechanical repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate downtime records and keep all equipment in a safe, operable condition.
- Operate lift truck, perform lift truck checklist, and change battery when required.
- Adhere to lock out/tag out procedures, perform housekeeping, and comply with safety systems.
- Work scheduled days and overtime as required.
- Successful completion of Lift Truck Operator certification.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, lift, carry, climb, and reach; lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs/ladders, operate a hoist, push pallet jacks up to 1,800 pounds, and work hands over head.
- Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.
- Willingness to perform any other job duties as assigned.

Training Requirements- 1‑day orientation training session.
- Quality/Safety training as required.
- On‑the‑job training to familiarize new associate with job duties.
- Responsible for safety equipment issued (glasses, earplugs, vest).
- Responsible for equipment, materials, and supplies necessary to perform assigned tasks.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.
- Report unsafe conditions and accidents immediately.
- Wear required PPE and comply with all plant and department safety rules.

8‑hour non‑rotating shift; start in PM; observe calendar; shift ends on the next day.
