Part‑time Associate – 408 Ontario (Smart & Final)

Join our Smart & Final store operations team as a Part‑time Associate. You will work in the 408 Ontario location, assisting customers, managing inventory, operating a cash register, and maintaining store sanitation.

• Read and write English, interact with general public and co‑workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

• Maintain assigned store section; order, receive, and stock merchandise using proper equipment; assure proper pricing; check product date codes; stock shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays, and refrigerated/frozen cases; set advertising/promotional displays; review invoices/bills for accuracy.
• Cleans and maintains sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas, and parking lot.
• Operates a cash register – receives payment from customers, processes cash and/or credit refunds, verifies customer eligibility when selling alcoholic beverages.
• Offers friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and courteous assistance to customers; provides current store and product information; assists customers with loads to vehicles.
• Performs basic bookkeeping duties; records lost/damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate tools.
