Louisiana is a State as a Model Employer. The Louisiana Special School District is experiencing a critical shortage of certified teachers. Jetson Center for Youth located in Baker, LA is seeking applicants for a Special Education Certified Instructor. There are two positions available. They will be filled immediately.
Jetson Center for Youth is a new OJJ facility that is in need of certified Special Education teachers. This candidate should have previous special education experience working with individuals with disabilities. The candidate must be familiar with the Special Education Reporting System, JCampus, and be able to draft compliant individual education plans for students with disabilities.

La. R.S. 17:3884(D) requires that any school board wishing to hire a person who has been assessed or evaluated pursuant to the Children First Act, La. Special Education certified, as set forth in Louisiana Standards for State Certification of School Personnel (Bulletin 746).
Job Specification- Plan, organize, and provide rigorous, engaging instructional experiences for students by employing a total approach involving teaching of academics, communication, vocational, motor, self-help, and social subject matter to improve and assist each student in taking his/her place in society.
- Track student progress, reflect, and make adjustments to ensure student academic growth.
- Job goals are in alignment with the LEADS teaching rubric components.
