Overview
Jetson Center for Youth, located in Baker, LA, is seeking applicants for SPECIAL EDUCATION CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR positions at a new OJJ facility. There are two positions available and they will be filled immediately.
Locations and roles: Louisiana Special School District – Special Education Certified Instructor (two vacancies).
Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and provide rigorous, engaging instructional experiences for students by employing a total approach involving teaching academics, communication, vocational, motor, self-help, and social subject matter to improve and support each student’s academic growth.
- Track student progress, reflect, and make adjustments to ensure student growth; align job goals with the LEADS teaching rubric components.
- Draft compliant individual education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Work with individuals with disabilities and be familiar with the Special Education Reporting System and JCampus.
- Special Education certified.
- Experience with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Must be able to perform duties in accordance with ADA standards and be able to accommodate reasonable physical requirements (lifting 30-40 pounds may be required; some work involves moderate physical effort).
- Submit official college transcripts if qualifying based on college training or degree; attach transcript to application if possible.
- No Civil Service test score is required to be considered for this vacancy.
