• Lateral Transfer Opportunity:
  This position is restricted to permanent employees of the County of Kern who have successfully completed their initial probationary period and are currently a Senior Accountant.

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. If the major is in a different field, at least 15 semester or 25 quarter college-level accounting units must have been completed.
• OR evidence of passing all four parts of the Uniform Certified Public Accountant examination.
• OR possession of a Certified Public Accountant certificate.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible general accounting and/or auditing experience, or two (2) years of experience in governmental accounting and/or auditing. Possession of an active California CPA certificate may be considered equivalent to one year of experience if not used to satisfy education requirements.

• Possession of a valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain proof of vehicle insurance may be required.
