Senior Accountant

Position Overview

Our client seeks a detail‑oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our growing food manufacturing organization. This blended role combines financial accounting and financial analysis (FA), offering the opportunity to play a key role in financial reporting, operational analysis, and process improvement. • Lead and support the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
• Produce accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and cost analysis related to manufacturing operations.
• Partner with operations and leadership to provide insights on cost drivers, margins, and performance metrics.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
• Support inventory accounting, including standard costing, inventory reconciliations, and adjustments.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting processes.
• Assist with audits, including preparation of schedules and coordination with external auditors.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency across accounting and finance functions.
• Support special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or food production.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate financial information clearly.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
