A well-established agricultural and distribution company in Bakersfield is looking to add an Accounting Specialist to its growing finance team. With operations that support businesses throughout the Central Valley, the organization has built a reputation for reliability, strong customer relationships, and long-term stability. This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations that help the business run smoothly.

This position exists due to continued business growth and an increasing need for accounting support across multiple departments. The Accounting Specialist will take ownership of key accounting functions, work closely with finance leadership, and collaborate with operations teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. It's an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role where attention to detail and problem-solving are valued.

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions while ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Reconcile bank accounts, vendor statements, and general ledger accounts on a regular basis

• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities

• Support financial reporting by maintaining organized records and compiling accounting data

• Partner with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and improve accounting processes

• 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related finance experience

• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger functions

• Experience using accounting software such as Quick Books, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, or a similar ERP system

• Experience in agriculture, distribution, manufacturing, or a related industry is preferred
