Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group is seeking a dedicated, board-certified/eligible Pediatric Intensivist to join our exceptional Pediatric ICU team at The Children’s Center at Dignity Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, CA. Step into a pivotal role serving the heart of the Central Valley in a community-focused facility offering top-tier care to children from Bakersfield and beyond.

Position Highlights:

• Provide coverage for an 8-bed, CCS-certified community PICU designed to serve a diverse population of critically ill children.
• Over 400 PICU admissions per year.
• Bakersfield Memorial Hospital is the regions only dedicated pediatric emergency department, located between Los Angeles and Fresno, and includes a 35-bed pediatric unit supported by in-house pediatric hospitalists.
• Deliver the full spectrum of pediatric critical care, including advanced ventilator management, inotropic support, and invasive monitoring.
• We offer a flexible scheduling model designed to support an excellent work-life balance, featuring 24-hour shifts with call taken from home.
• Enjoy a closed-unit PICU model, supported by a highly skilled, pediatric-trained nursing team and comprehensive ancillary staff including pediatric pharmacists, nutritionists, child life specialists, and case managers.
• Benefit from Valley Children’s Hospital’s broad subspecialty support via teleconsultation—ensuring immediate access to tertiary services not available in Bakersfield.
• Daily responsibilities include managing all PICU admissions, daily patient care, and serving as a vital consultant to our pediatric ED, general pediatric unit, and burn unit.
