Location: Edwards/California City/Tehachapi (Rising Scholars), CA
Responsibilities- Provide instruction in a full range of Economics courses.
- Participate in student recruitment and articulation of programs.
- Maintain subject matter currency; develop and revise curriculum.
- Use computer and multimedia technology; assess student learning and program level outcomes.
- Participate collegially in department, college, and discipline-specific professional activities.
- Assignments may include using multiple teaching methodologies and teaching at other campus sites; day, evening, or weekend classes; large classes; distance learning classes; and classes for incarcerated students.
- Note:

- Master's in Economics; OR
- Bachelor's in economics AND Master's in business, business administration, business education, finance, or political science; OR
- Possession of a valid credential which authorizes full-time teaching of Economics at the California Community College level; OR
- Equivalent qualifications as determined by the screening committee;
Candidates with equivalent qualifications must request and submit an Application for Equivalence and supporting documents. - A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students.
- Note:
Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions. Foreign degrees require evaluation.
- Broad preparation and depth of knowledge in Economics.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and colleagues to promote innovation, teaching, learning, and service.
- Ability to work with students with varied skills, goals, and motivations; develop curriculum for multiple modalities.
- Ability to participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities.
- Effective oral and written communication; ability to maintain subject matter currency; ability to assess student learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies to benefit the program; commitment to the California community college mission.
