Kern Community College District is seeking applications for part-time, hourly adjunct instructors. The starting salary is $66.00/hour; rates may vary based on assignment type and the Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula. For details, refer to the CCA collective bargaining agreement or your college HR office.

This pool is used to staff part-time adjunct positions.

Master's in English, literature, comparative literature, or composition OR Bachelor's in any of these fields plus a Master's in linguistics, TESL, speech, education with a reading specialization, creative writing, or journalism. Alternatively, equivalent qualifications judged by the district. Candidates claiming equivalence must submit an APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCE form with supporting documents.

Additionally, candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds.

Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions. Foreign degrees require evaluation by a recognized credential evaluation service.
