- Teach a full range of Sustainable Outdoor Recreation Leadership courses, including day, evening, weekend, large‑class, and distance learning formats.
- Participate in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs for the department.
- Maintain subject‑matter currency and develop/revise curriculum.
- Use computer and multimedia technology in instruction.
- Engage collegially in departmental, college, district, and discipline‑specific professional activities.
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years related professional experience.
- OR Associate degree and 6 years related professional experience.
- OR possession of a valid credential authorizing full‑time teaching of Forestry and Natural Resources; or equivalent.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of community college students.
- Degrees and credits from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406); foreign degrees evaluated by an approved service.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues and promote innovation, teaching, learning, and service to a diverse student population.
- Ability to work with students across a wide range of skills, motivations, and goals.
- Ability to develop curriculum, including multiple modalities.
- Ability to participate in recruitment and articulation activities with schools, colleges, universities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain subject‑matter currency.
- Assess student learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of computer technology and willingness to explore new technologies.
- Commitment to the California community college mission.
