Salary Range: $66.00–$67.00 per hour (hourly rate may vary based on assignment and LHE formula).
This position is part of Kern Community College District’s part‑time, hourly faculty pool. Qualified applicants will be contacted by department supervisors, deans or division chairs if a need arises. Applications remain active up to two years.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in chemistry.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biochemistry and a master’s in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology or geochemistry.
- Equivalent education, experience, or other accomplishments in the field may be deemed equal; equivalency must be requested by submitting an APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCY form with supporting documents.
- A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Note:
Degrees and credits must be from accredited Title V institutions. Foreign degrees must be evaluated by an NACES or ACEI member and the evaluation submitted with the online application.

- Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies that would benefit the program.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the California community college mission.
