Job GoalTo support principal in establishing a collaborative and equitable school culture by fostering trust, building strong relationships with educational partners, and modeling integrity and accountability. Provide instructional leadership through data-driven strategies, professional development, and curriculum alignment to meet diverse student needs and improve outcomes. Promote student success by implementing MTSS, improving attendance, and ensuring equitable discipline while enhancing college and career readiness opportunities.
Manage resources effectively, maintain campus safety, and strengthen family and community engagement to support holistic student development.
- Acts as temporary head of school in absence of principal
- Fosters a culture of trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement among staff and students
- Builds positive relationships with families, community groups, and organizations to support student success
- Provides instructional leadership through data-driven decision-making, classroom observations, and actionable feedback
- Oversees implementation of Tier 1 instructional programs to meet diverse student needs
- Leads staff professional learning and development to improve instructional practices and student outcomes
- Guides curriculum and assessment alignment with standards and district expectations
- Monitors student performance and use accountability systems to improve teaching and learning
- Leads initiatives to improve attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism through data analysis and targeted strategies
- Promotes student agency and voice by supporting leadership opportunities, such as student council and ASB activities
- Collaborates with staff to implement Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
- Ensures equitable discipline practices, promoting fairness and restorative practices
- Assists in evaluation of certificated and classified staff
- Assists in managing scheduling, budgeting, and allocation of resources to support instructional and operational goals
- Ensures proper allocation of instructional materials and resources to meet diverse student needs
- Assists in building meaningful relationships with families, especially underrepresented communities, to support student success
- Assists in organizing family engagement activities, including Parent Cafes, home visits, and other school events
- Assists in establishing and leveraging community partnerships to meet student needs and enhance college and career readiness
- Leads professional development aligned with school and district goals, including training on curriculum, assessment, and instructional strategies
- Participates in district-sponsored professional learning opportunities to enhance leadership skills
- Supports teacher collaboration and growth through coaching and mentorship
- Oversees campus safety protocols, including emergency preparedness, supervision, and school security as outlined in school safety plan
- Collaborates with safety teams to address issues related to student behavior, bullying, and crisis response
- Maintains a safe, supportive school environment that fosters student well-being
- Implements programs and events, such as college and career weeks, to prepare students for postsecondary success
- Models personal and professional values of equity, integrity, caring, collaboration, personal and collective accountability
- Performs other related duties as assigned
$130,437 - $159,039 annually (199 days) (Max. salary includes longevity & educational stipends)
EvaluationsPerformance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the District's "Improvement of Professional Services" handbook, Board Policies and Procedures and consistent with collective bargaining agreements when applicable.
