Job Summary
As our Patient Transporter, you will provide essential assistance and transportation for patients and related items across our campus, ensuring a highly customer-sensitive and seamless experience.
ResponsibilitiesEvery day you will promptly and safely transport inpatients and outpatients to and from various hospital areas. You will meticulously confirm patient identification, greet and assist in transferring patients, and make conscious observations of patient condition during transport, reporting any issues to appropriate personnel. You will also maintain a clean and organized work area and report any malfunctioning equipment. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and exceptional customer service for all individuals within our facility.
You will be attentive, observant, and capable of performing duties efficiently while upholding the highest standards of care and professionalism.
- Observation of equipment condition, cleanliness, and repair needs of equipment.
- Immediately report any repair needs to appropriate leadership.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with other department staff to prioritize service requests.
- Maintain strong working relationships with other units and departments to ensure a cohesive team effort exists at all times.
- Utilize all security practices to maintain the safety of the patient.
- Maintain a careful understanding of transporting through any areas under construction, detours, wet or broken pavement, or other patient movement that may be affected by weather.
- High School Graduate General Studies or equivalent technical training, upon hire.
- High School GED General Studies or equivalent technical training, upon hire.
- Basic Life Support - CPR (AHA), upon hire.
- Previous Patient Transport or Guest Services experience.
- Two years of Patient Transport experience.
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for Common Spirit Health compliance requirements.
