The A-C Electric Company Internship Experience Program gives students a hands-on opportunity to learn how information technology supports a project-driven construction business. During this 10-week internship, you’ll work alongside our Information Technology (IT) team while gaining practical experience with user support, hardware and software troubleshooting, network administration, cybersecurity, and systems management. You’ll helpsolve real technology issues for office and field employees while learning how reliable systems, responsive support, and effective technology contribute to day-to-day operations across the Company.

As an Information Technology Intern, your key responsibilities will be:

• Providing technical support by helping office and field employees troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
• Supporting user and device setup by assisting with device configuration, software installation, account management, andother activities that help employees access the technology they need.
• Assisting with network and systems administration by monitoring network performance, helping resolve connectivity issues, supporting access controls, and assisting with system maintenance.
• Supporting IT security and asset management by helping maintain accurate equipment and software-license records and assisting with system updates, security patches, and employee education on safe computing practices.
• Improving technology tools and processes by helping evaluate and test software solutions, supporting implementation activities, and documenting IT processes andbest practices.

During the 10-week program, you’ll also have opportunities to:

• Complete a continuous-improvement project and present your findings to senior leadership at the end of the internship.
• Participate in Book Club assignments designed to strengthen leadership and communication skills.
• Learn from experienced professionals through mentorship andday-to-day collaboration with IT professionals and systems administrators.
• Build your professional network by supporting employees and working with teams across different areas of the Company.
• Explore technology career paths while developing practical experience with IT support, systems administration, network administration, cybersecurity, and business technology.

• Current enrollment at a college or university with an expected graduation date on or before August 2029.
• A GPA of at least 3.0 in upper-division coursework for yourmajor or 2.75 overall.
• Availability to work full-time
  , 40 hours per week, for theentire 10-week Summer 2027 internship.
• Ability to relocate to Bakersfield, CA
  , for the duration ofthe internship.

• Coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science,Information Systems, Cybersecurity
  , or a related field.
• Relevant technical experience demonstrated through technology projects, research, internships, coursework, or other applied learning opportunities.
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills demonstrated through leadership positions, team activities, or student or civic organizations.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  , enthusiasm for learning, and an interest in using technology to support employees and business operations.

Pay Range: $19.00–$24.00 per hour
