This is an as needed Part‑Time Essential Services Position which will require you to work day and/or night shifts, including weekends and holidays. It is subject to the Service Contract Act and is classified as non‑exempt, which means you will be eligible for overtime.
Hourly: $28.73/hr

Our Linguists perform real‑time transcriptions of sensitive material from Spanish to English, collect, analyze and decode colloquialisms and slang terms, extract pertinent information and communicate that information to law enforcement agents. The linguist transcribes source documents and recordings from storage media, including but not limited to audio cassettes, videocassettes, or digital media.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities- Listen to oral and written intercepts or pre‑recorded communications in Spanish and provide verbal and written synopsis and transcriptions as applicable per project.
- Relate all pertinent information to the Client when supporting a live project.
- Contribute to a master‑list of slang words and codes used by a particular group/organization for the duration of the project/case.
- Maintain a voice library for the duration of the project.
- Transcribe and translate pertinent calls and documents as assigned by supervisor.
- Produce court‑ready transcriptions of pertinent calls, chats, and documents, following the required format.
- Use the various reference tools created during the project.
- Transcribe a minimum of 16 minutes of recorded conversation in an 8‑hour day.
- Operate specialized software equipment provided by the government, including JSI voice box, Pen‑link, Comverse, and other communication collection equipment used at the assigned site.
- Maintain a daily log of productivity.
- Perform related duties as assigned, within the scope of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree AND three (3) years’ experience in a professional setting OR Associate degree AND five (5) years’ experience OR High School Diploma AND seven (7) years of experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year of transcription experience in the required language.
- Selected applicants will be subject to a government background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements to access classified information.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.
- Knowledge of source‑language colloquial terms and expressions.
- Knowledgeable in SMS language, social media, and Webchat.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written skills in the target language, including correct and accurate grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Must meet the contract requirement of a score of 3 or better on a third‑party Language Assessment (Listening/Speaking/Reading/Writing) in English.
- Must possess strong computer skills in MS Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Works well under pressure, in a fast‑paced environment, and communicates effectively with management and law enforcement personnel.
- Prioritizes, manages time effectively, meets stringent deadlines, balances multiple tasks, and works in a team environment.
- Takes technical direction and feedback from various sources.
- Types 45 words per minute.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Security Clearance.
- Favorable credit check for all cleared positions.
- Successfully passes a background investigation, medical, and drug screen.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Permanent Resident who has lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
