Summary

The Machinist will have precision machining of pump parts including, rings, bushings, sleeves, and shafts, with the ability to handle .001 T.I.R. tolerances on finished products.

Responsibilities of the Manual Machinist include, but are not limited to:

Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output

Plan the sequence of necessary actions for job completion

Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping

Select appropriate machines (e.g., lathes) and load material for a job

Determine batch sizes, machine speeds, etc.

Monitor machine operation to adjust feed, temperature, and identify issues

Check output for consistency with specifications and discard defects

Keep records of approved and defective units or final products

Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs

Qualifications of the Manual Machinist include, but are not limited to:

Proven experience as a machinist

Experience with manual, semi-automated, or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders, etc.)

Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers) for accurate measurements

Knowledge of metal properties and other materials

Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals

Strong math and analytical skills

Physical stamina to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs.)

Acceptable driving record

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship is a plus

Pay Range: $30+ DOE
Physical Demand:
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions:

Shop environment
Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Education:

HS Diploma or GED
