WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLEAn Autonomous Maintenance Operator plays a vital, hands‑on role in ensuring that an organization’s machinery and equipment operate at peak efficiency and are consistently being enhanced. This position blends the technical expertise of a traditional machine technician with the principles of continuous improvement to drive productivity, improve quality, reduce waste, and increase safety.
The core of responsibility is to move beyond reactive repairs and embrace a proactive approach to machine maintenance and optimization. They are the frontline implementers of Lean and TPM principles directly on the production floor, reducing unplanned downtime and building operator ownership of the production process.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR- Proactive and Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and use predictive maintenance techniques to anticipate and address potential issues, minimizing unplanned downtime.
- Machine Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate the fundamental cause of problems using the “5 Whys” methodology to ensure corrective actions prevent the same failure from recurring.
- Machine Optimization and Enhancement: Identify and implement improvements to the machinery, including cycle time reductions, quality improvements, energy consumption reductions, and ergonomic and safety enhancements for operators.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze machine performance data (OEE, MTBF, MTTR) to identify trends, pinpoint areas for improvement, and measure the success of implemented changes.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with machine operators, engineers, and continuous improvement specialists to design and execute improvement projects.
- Implementation of Lean and TPM Principles: Champion 5S, Autonomous Maintenance training for operators, Kaizen events, SOP creation, and documentation standards to sustain improvements.
