Licensed Vocational Nurse:
Bakersfield and Surrounding Areas
Compassionate Care Home Health Agency is seeking a Certified Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide direct patient care in our Bakersfield field office. Our agency operates across Fresno County and surrounding counties, offering in‑home medical, rehabilitative, and support services to patients throughout Central California.
Compensation:Hourly rate $33–$36 (negotiable based on experience). Overtime opportunity. 401(k) matching. 45 days paid time off. Parental leave. Dental, vision, and health insurance.

- Provide direct patient care as defined in the California State Nurse Practice Act, including end‑of‑life care.
- Implement comprehensive assessments and develop and follow individual plans of care under RN supervision.
- Document patient services accurately and in a timely manner.
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis and self‑care techniques.
- Participate in interdisciplinary coordination of hospice and home health services.
- Use and prepare equipment and supplies, adhering to aseptic technique.
- Manage pain/symptom management and evaluate response to treatments/medications.
- Engage in professional growth and participate in quality improvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the RN.
- Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience; 3 years preferred (community health, hospice or medical/surgical).
- Current LVN license in California.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Licensed driver with a reliable, insured automobile.
- CPR certification.
- Strong commitment to high‑quality patient care.
- Positive, can‑do attitude, flexibility for weekend or odd‑hour work.
- Community home health or hospice experience.
- Knowledge of hospice philosophy and terminal patient care.
- Experience with multiple disciplines (HHA, OT, PT, MSW, ST, Dietician).
