OverviewGrimmway Produce Group is seeking a Pest Control Adviser in the Mt View Farming Division, working with staff to utilize sound Integrated Pest Management practices in organic vegetable production. Whether you are a current GPG team member looking to grow your career or a professional seeking a rewarding opportunity in agriculture, this position offers the chance to contribute to one of the world’s largest carrot and organic vegetable grower, packer, and shippers.
Responsibilities- Work with staff to utilize sound Integrated Pest Management practices in organic vegetable production.
- Conduct field assessments, pest monitoring, and control planning.
- Maintain records, data collection, and reporting.
- Travel approximately 40% of the time during Fall and Winter months.
- Maintain a valid California Agricultural Pest Control Adviser license and drive safely.
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences or related field, required.
- Valid California Agricultural Pest Control Adviser (PCA) License, required.
- Thorough knowledge of agricultural pests and their control in organic and conventional systems, required.
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software and ability to learn internal record‑keeping and data collection software.
- Attention to detail, thoroughness, and good analytical skills are a must.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with a clean DMV driving record.
- Must pass pre‑placement drug/alcohol screen, physical, and functional capacity evaluation.
- 3–5 years of field experience.
- Certified Crop Advisor (CCA).
- Curious, highly focused, tedious personal nature with the ability to interact with farmers.
- Competitive salary ($68,640 - $90,000 / Yearly Salary). Actual compensation will be determined by factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity, and market data.
