Lead Electrician – Brundage Electrical – Shift 3

Base pay range: $36.00/hr – $41.00/hr

Role Overview

The Lead Electrician oversees electrical work across multiple production facilities, leads a team of electricians and apprentices, and ensures all installations, repairs, and maintenance meet proper techniques, safety guidelines, and industry standards. The role supports daily production needs, coordinates construction-related electrical tasks, and ensures reliable facility operations.

Responsibilities
  • Assign and oversee daily tasks to ensure quality workmanship, productivity, and adherence to proper techniques.
  • Conduct conduit installations, including the use of Robroy, Ridgid, and EMT as required.
  • Coordinate workforce schedules to support both production demands and construction project timelines.
  • Identify and correct potential hazards in both operational and construction environments.
  • Follow safety procedures and policies throughout the facility.
  • Lead and mentor a team of electricians and maintenance technicians.
  • Schedule, assign, and inspect electrical work to ensure compliance with codes and company standards.
  • Train team members on electrical safety, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and production leads to minimize downtime and coordinate repairs.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, controls, and equipment (motors, conveyors, lighting, sensors, VFDs, etc.).
  • Perform regular inspections of electrical systems and update preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical components of production and agricultural systems including irrigation, refrigeration, and automated packaging lines.
  • Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities, equipment history, and electrical drawings.
  • Enforce electrical safety standards in compliance with OSHA, NEC, and company policies.
  • Maintain lockout/tagout procedures and ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols.
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance documentation.
  • Support electrical design and upgrades for new installations and process improvements.
  • Work with engineering and production teams to improve system reliability and energy efficiency.
  • Recommend and implement technology or control system upgrades for productivity enhancement.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to production, maintenance, and leadership needs.
  • Promote a productive and proactive work environment that encourages continuous improvement.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, rules, and expectations.
  • Stay up to date on relevant state laws and regulations related to NEC, OSHA, NFPA, and other applicable standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems up to 480V 3‑phase.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with motor controls, sensors, and automation systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to use proper electrical techniques and follow safety guidelines.
  • Ability to answer questions promptly and address issues in real time.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School/GED with 5–7 years of industrial or agricultural experience in a related field or a combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Verifiable history of safe vehicle operation and meeting company driving eligibility standards, including a clean driving record verified through a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or vocational training in an electrical field.
  • Eight to ten years of experience in a related field.
  • State Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Environmental exposure to cold/wet conditions (40°F or below); work in all facilities (indoor and outdoor).
  • Material exposure – moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 55 lbs.
