  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with automotive and rig equipment.
  • Basic skill in identifying minor repair requirements of related equipment.
  • Ability to remove and replace minor mechanical components.
  • A good understanding of preventive maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematic calculations of addition, subtraction, division and multiplication using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to communicate in English to the extent that s/he can understand verbal and written instructions as well as give verbal and written instructions and complete job related documentation.
  • Three to five years of previous oil field or construction industry mechanic experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs the primary thinking called for and encompassed by the overall Position Definition.
  • Adheres to Company policies and work requirements.
  • May spend over 50% of time in the field.
  • Makes minor repairs and performs routine maintenance on tractor/trailers, rig equipment, trucks and other equipment.
  • Complies with Company preventative maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Competent in the use of oxygen/acetylene equipment to be able to do minor soldering, brazing and cutting of flat material as well as pipe and tubing; and minor welding.
  • Routinely performs simple equipment inspections and reports any deficiencies to supervisor.
  • Responsible for keeping a maintenance log of all site equipment.
  • May be responsible for collecting bids for repairs to be performed off site.
  • Keeps parts inventory and tools in good condition and properly stored.
  • This position requires various types and levels of job related training with respect to the operation of equipment and Company Standard Operating Procedures and also other specialized training as required by regulatory agencies and the Company.
  • Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the immediate supervisor.

The pay range for this position in California is between $33.00 per hour and $34.00 per hour. Please note that the hourly rate information is a general guideline, and that the hourly rate will vary depending on your location. C&J Well Services, LLC (“CJWS”) will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope of responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
