# Dispatcher Operations Bakersfield, CA part time
420 Kingdom is a California DCC-licensed cannabis retailer running high-volume delivery across Bakersfield and Kern County, 10am–10pm, 7 days a week. We're hiring a
** part-time Dispatcher
** to keep routes moving, drivers supported, and customers updated — the nerve center of our delivery operation.

** Bakersfield, CA — dispatch operates on-site with remote-shift flexibility per store policy### About the Role When an order comes in, the dispatcher makes sure the right driver gets the right route at the right time. You'll monitor live order flow, communicate with drivers in the field, flag exceptions before they become customer complaints, and help the team hit our service standards — including our commitment to fast, professional delivery across Bakersfield.

This role is fast-paced. On a busy Friday night you may be tracking multiple drivers, rerouting around traffic, answering customer ETA questions, and coordinating with the retail floor on inventory or compliance holds — all  you stay calm under pressure and communicate clearly, you'll thrive here.### What You'll Do
* Monitor incoming delivery orders and assign routes to available drivers based on zone, volume, driver location, and ETA targets
* Communicate with drivers throughout their shifts — status checks, reroutes, customer issues, and compliance flags
* Track each order from dispatch through proof-of-delivery; escalate exceptions (failed , address issues, inventory holds) immediately
* Provide customers accurate ETA updates when requested and coordinate with drivers on timing
* Coordinate with retail, inventory, and compliance teams on product availability,  failures, or delivery constraints
* Maintain accurate dispatch logs and help identify patterns that improve daily route efficiency
* Support peak-hour coverage during evenings, weekends, and high-volume periods
* Assist with driver check-in/check-out procedures and end-of-shift reconciliation as needed### Schedule & Availability
* ** Part-time only** — we are not hiring full-time dispatchers for this posting
* Coverage needed across our
** 10am–10pm, 7-day-a-week
** delivery window, with heaviest volume evenings and weekends
* Typical shifts run 5–8 hours; weekly hours vary with business volume and your availability
* Consistent availability on at least 3–4 days per week (including one weekend day) is preferred
* Flexibility to cover additional shifts during holidays and peak periods is a plus### What You'll Bring
* 1+ years in dispatch, logistics coordination, call center operations, or similar fast-paced scheduling role
* Calm under pressure — you can juggle multiple drivers and orders without losing track
* Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable on phone, text, and messaging tools
* Strong attention to detail for order accuracy, timing, compliance checkpoints, and documentation
* Basic computer literacy and comfort learning dispatch software, POS tools, and routing systems
* Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and focus in a moderately noisy operations environment
* Must be 21+ and eligible to work in California### Compliance & Screening
* Background check required (per company policy)
* Must understand and enforce California cannabis delivery compliance requirements (, delivery windows, chain-of-custody)
* Comfortable escalating compliance issues to leadership — no shortcuts on regulated deliveries### Nice to Have
* Experience dispatching for delivery, transportation, cannabis, retail, food service, or field-service operations
* Familiarity with Bakersfield geography, neighborhoods, and traffic patterns
* Bilingual English/Spanish
