A growing, private equity–backed service organization in the commercial roofing and construction management industry is seeking an IT Manager to lead and evolve its technology environment. The company is in a phase of rapid growth, having recently brought together four regional service organizations under one operating model.

This role represents a rare opportunity to join a fast-scaling company at the ground level and establish the foundation of its IT infrastructure, security, and systems strategy. You’ll work closely with executive leadership, managed service partners, and business users to consolidate systems, optimize vendor relationships, and support a newly implemented ERP system. This is a direct hire, full‑time position based in Baldwin Park, CA, offering hybrid flexibility and regular engagement with business units across the western U.S.

The Role You’ll Play

As IT Manager, you’ll be the company’s first in‑house IT leader — responsible for setting up structure, standards, and governance across a multi‑entity organization. You’ll work closely with the CFO, CEO, and PE sponsor’s IT team to align technology initiatives with business priorities.

You’ll oversee two managed service providers, ensure infrastructure reliability, support the rollout of Acumatica ERP, and drive standardization across acquired companies. This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role with both strategic and operational impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for two managed service providers (MSPs) handling infrastructure, end‑user support, applications, and cybersecurity.
  • Develop and execute a scalable IT roadmap aligned with business goals and the integration of multiple operating entities.
  • Oversee infrastructure health (servers, networks, storage, firewalls, cloud) and ensure strong cybersecurity practices.
  • Lead IT consolidation projects across acquired companies, including Microsoft 365 and other shared environments.
  • Partner with leadership to prioritize IT initiatives and standardize processes, policies, and governance.
  • Manage IT vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure accountability and performance metrics are met.
  • Provide escalation support for key systems and end users; ensure continuity for business applications and field operations.
  • Support the rollout and integration of the new Acumatica ERP platform across all divisions.
  • Foster communication and partnership between IT and business stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor to executives.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in IT support, infrastructure, or systems management roles.
  • Broad technical understanding of networking, servers, storage, and IT security.
  • Experience managing or coordinating with MSPs and driving accountability for SLAs.
  • Proven ability to lead or participate in the integration of acquired companies into standardized IT environments (ideally Microsoft‑based).
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and organizational skills.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively with executives and operations teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or a related field (preferred).
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Experience in construction management, field service, or other service‑based industries.
  • Exposure to ERP implementations (Acumatica, Net Suite, or similar).
  • Prior experience in a private equity–backed or high‑growth business environment.
Compensation

$115,000-$130,000 per year
