We are looking for an experienced Staff RN to lead the health care team in postpartum care. You will provide professional nursing care using the nursing process in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. Demonstrate performance consistent with the Medical Center Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan, while treating co‑workers, patients, families, and all team members with dignity and respect.
Essential Responsibilities- Leadership:
- Uphold Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures, state and federal laws.
- Serve as a leader of the team; delegate tasks and demonstrate accountability.
- Understand own and team scope of practice and appropriately escalated issues.
- Mentor, orient, and coach others on unit operations and patient care.
- Prioritize, delegate, and supervise assignments to ensure patient care completion.
- Comply with regulations, policies, and standards.
- Nursing Process:
- Develop and update individualized care plans with multidisciplinary input.
- Ensure patient progress is monitored and plans are revised as needed.
- Schedule discharge planning and educate patients and families.
- Ensure patient safety (medication rights, falls, decubitus, infections).
- Coordinate pain control and address patient concerns.
- Documentation:
- Chart accurately, legibly, dated, and timely.
- Reflect nursing interventions and evaluations. Use computer systems efficiently.
- Clinical Outcomes:
- Discuss progress with physicians and the team.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on data and assessments.
- Participate in performance improvement activities.
- Workplace Safety:
- Adhere to LMP Workplace Safety principles and standard precautions.
- Patient Care
Experience:- Deliver customer service standards.
- Respond to call lights, alarms, and patient requests promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality, cleanliness, and a supportive environment.
- Communicate clearly and ensure patient understanding.
- Team Commitment:
- Act as an effective, flexible team member.
- Address conflicts constructively and accept feedback.
- Serve as a preceptor to new staff, students, and registry.
- Participate in mandatory meetings and professional development.
- Adhere to attendance policies and report promptly to shifts.
- Fiscal Responsibility:
- Organize work to minimize overtime.
- Identify and assist in system improvements.
- Utilize payroll and non‑payroll resources optimally.
Basic Qualifications: 1‑year recent full‑time experience in mother/baby care or completion of a KP FCC training program or equivalent within the last 12 months.

Licences &
Certifications:
Registered Nurse License (California), Basic Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
Additional Requirements: May be expected to cross‑train to at least one other perinatal area.
