Security Guard (Flex) – Athens Services

All guards employed by Athens Services are responsible for the security of all property and materials within all company‑owned facilities. Each security employee must conduct themselves professionally at all times, report any employees or visitors who do not comply, and observe and report any suspicious activity. Guards must avoid any physical danger or verbal confrontation.

• Ensure the building/premises assigned to the guard are safe and secured from contingencies and acts of violence.
• Carefully observe each person entering the premises and monitor for intruders.
• Prevent entry of unauthorized people and prohibited articles into restricted areas.
• Maintain a log book with details of names, purpose of visit, and entry and exit times for all visitors.
• Conduct routine checks inside and outside the building each day.
• Report all suspicious acts to local police or management staff.
• Verify that all entrances, exits, lights, and electrical equipment are secure when the premises are closed.
• Respond immediately to emergency alarms and notify the appropriate department (e.g., fire department).
• Document damages to the premises or assets and any unusual occurrences.
• Enforce rules and regulations, warning violators of potential consequences.
• Direct vehicles in and around the building and ensure their safety while inside the premises.
• In case of a load fire, operate the vehicle to dump the load safely into a suitable area to prevent further damage.

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Good communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Knowledge and ability to secure a premise.
• Honesty, dedication, and sincerity.
• Politeness and courtesy.
• Ability to handle and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to act quickly in emergency situations.
• Ability to judge and detect potential threats and act accordingly.
• Acceptable Driver Record.
• Physical capability to perform job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Bilingual in English/Spanish.
• Previous security experience.

Physical:

• Sitting, seeing, hearing, and smelling continuously.
• Problem solving, oral/written communication, analytical ability, calculation, concentration, and interpersonal abilities continuously.
• Eye/hand coordination, fingering (typing), handling, and wrist motion continuously.
• Bending, reaching, stretching, standing, and walking occasionally.

Environmental:

• Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, and noise continuously.
• Exposure to grease, oil, chemicals, and wet conditions occasionally.
• Works inside only; position considered office only.

$20.13 - $21.63 hourly
