SUMMARY:
One of our clients, a growing, full‑service, established CPA firm in Nassau County, LI, is hiring an Audit & Tax Compliance Manager to support the firm’s client activity and be well positioned for expected client growth. Many firm clients are small to mid‑sized Construction and Real Estate companies — two growing and broad industries in the NY tri‑state area that generally pay very well.
Candidates are NOT REQUIRED to have experience in these industries, but it's a plus.
Although the IDEAL candidate has 5+ years of experience performing BOTH financial statement Audits and Reviews, AND preparing Personal, Partnership & Corporate tax returns, the firm IS OPEN to candidates experienced in EITHER Audits & Reviews OR Tax Compliance, who have the aptitude and motivation to learn, as the firm WILL TRAIN the Manager in performing F/S Audits & Reviews OR Tax Compliance work.
The salary is up to approximately $150k, plus bonus. The firm recently promoted an employee to Partner with 10 yrs of experience; the firm will need to promote more Partners over the next 2‑6 yrs to reward & retain strong employees, and keep pace with client demand & growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform financial statement Audits & Reviews for the firm’s diverse commercial clients, prepare and review Personal, Partnership & Corporate tax returns, and some tax planning / advisory services. The work is largely performed on site at the firm’s Nassau County office or on occasion, at client locations.
REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 5+ years of public accounting experience performing EITHER F/S Audits & Reviews OR Tax Compliance, at SMALL to MID‑SIZED CPA firms with smaller firm clients. Experience with BOTH Audit and Tax Compliance is a plus, but NOT REQUIRED.
- The firm WILL consider candidates with ~3‑4 years of experience in public accounting plus ~1‑2 years of experience in private industry
- Ability to work overtime as needed, particularly during tax season
- Ability to commute to the firm’s LI office and work on site full‑time
- When necessary, ability to occasionally work at client locations typically located on LI
