Music AssistantLocation: Baldwin Middle School, Guilford, Connecticut.
Position Type: Support Staff/ Music Assistant.
Date Posted: 10/15/2025.
Work Period: School Year. 10 classes / 7 hours per week, September through June, rotating schedule.
Starting Date: As soon as possible.
Closing Date: Until filled.
Salary: $20.74 per hour, maximum of 7 hours per school week. This position is excluded from a bargaining unit and does NOT include benefits. The work schedule does not include school vacation periods or summer break.

Responsibilities:
- Assist orchestra teacher with large and small group instruction.
- Provide remediation for students.
- Mark orchestral parts.
- Modify music for students.
- Tune instruments.
- Perform minor string instrument repair.
- Monitor instrument inventory to ensure instruments are in good playing order.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of teaching good beginner string technique (required).
- Suzuki training preferred.
- Experience working in a school or with children preferred.
