Permanent - Full time. DEPARTMENT: BBC Nations, BBC Radio Jersey.
LOCATION:
St Helier, office-based. PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £27,600-£28,600 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. We also pay an additional annual Channel Islands Weighting of £5,441 for full‑time employees.

This position is not suitable for individuals new to audio production. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of two years’ experience in a comparable role. We kindly ask that previous applicants do not reapply.

YourKey Responsibilities and Impact
- You’ll work as part of a multi-skilled team, developing content for radio and digital.
- You’ll draw on a wide range of sources for story ideas and deliver original stories which surprise and engage listeners in creative ways.
- You’ll have a real passion for creating powerful audio by understanding our local audiences and what matters to them. You’ll need a flair for writing great scripts.
- You’ll bring experience of a variety of audio production techniques across both linear and digital platforms, and a track record in live radio production.
– Essential Criteria
- Passion for island life and the ability to look at stories from diverse perspectives, and bursting with creative ideas.
- Substantial experience of audio production and journalism with strong editorial judgement.
- Great people skills needed to collaborate with colleagues across our local platforms.
- Good knowledge of the BBC’s editorial guidelines, a thorough grasp of impartiality as it applies to our output, and good knowledge of broadcast law.
- Experience developing productive working relationships with presenters, helping to get the best out of each other.
- Substantial time spent creating speech‑based features for a daily radio show.
