Overview
We’re expanding our Geotechnical team at BAM, with a range of exciting and challenging ground engineering projects across the UK. These nationally based roles play a key part in delivering critical infrastructure that supports net zero targets, national security, and the Northern Powerhouse initiative. We are currently seeking experienced professionals with expertise in the following areas:
- Grout Plant Operators
- Rope Access Drillers and Support Operatives
- Rope Access Meshing Operatives – with experience in multiple meshing systems
- Piling Operators (Rotary and CFA) in various roles

Your teamThis role is nationwide as we have projects across the entire United Kingdom. Candidates must be willing to travel on a regular basis. A company vehicle will be provided.
Making Possible- Communicating effectively at all levels including site management, technical specialists, commercial staff, planners, engineers, supervisory staff, operatives, suppliers, third parties and client representatives. Maintain high personal standards in health and safety.
- Monitoring the work and ensuring adoption of Dont Walk By and Making Possible initiatives.
- Maintaining high standards in environmental awareness and behaviour.
- Driving quality delivery through effective planning and right first time delivery.
- Assist in the provision of accurate and clear record keeping during works.
- Carry out geotechnical installations and processes to specification.
- Operate plant safely and efficiently.
- Maintain personal diary/CPD record to sustain career development.
- Complete observation cards if you observe something unsafe, damaging to the environment or good enough to share with others. Encourage others to adopt the same behaviours.
- Attending and participating in daily safety briefings, activity plan briefings, tool box talks and safety committee meetings.
- Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time.
Qualifications
The following are mandatory requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 Plant Operation (various)
- NVQ Level 2 Land Drilling (Support Op)
- NVQ Level 2 Concrete Spraying
- NVQ Level 2 Vehicle Marshall
- NVQ Level 2 Controlling Lifting Operations – Slinger/Signaller
- NVQ Level 2 Ground Anchor Installation
- Emergency First Aid at Work
- CPCS
- CSCS
- Irata Level 1, 2, or 3
- Land Drilling Lead Driller NVQ
- Land Driller Support Operative
- CAT and Genny
- Plant familiarisation – various categories
