Group Management Accountant

Artemis Human Capital is exclusively partnering with an ambitious technology group in Belfast to recruit a Group Management Accountant. This is a brilliant opportunity for an accountant who wants more than a traditional reporting role. Joining at an exciting stage of growth, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with the CFO and senior leadership team, gaining visibility across two expanding businesses and becoming an important part of their commercial decision-making.

You'll be trusted to understand the numbers, challenge performance and turn financial information into meaningful insight. As the group grows, you'll also have the opportunity to influence how the finance function operates and help introduce smarter, more efficient ways of working. For the right person, this role could be an excellent stepping stone towards Financial Controller.

The Role:

Owning the monthly reporting cycle across two businesses and ensuring accurate, timely management accounts. Taking responsibility for the month-end process, from journals and accruals through to reconciliations and final reporting. Turning financial data into clear reporting packs, KPIs and insight for the CFO and wider leadership team. Supporting the development of budgets, forecasts and cash-flow projections. Getting underneath the numbers to understand revenue, gross margin, overheads, stock and profitability.

Challenging variances and identifying where the business can improve performance or protect margin. Taking responsibility for UK and Irish VAT compliance, supported by external advisers where appropriate. Managing intercompany balances and ensuring group accounts remain accurate and well controlled. Working with operational and commercial colleagues to help them understand the financial impact of their decisions. Supporting strong controls across purchasing and accounts payable.

Improving processes, reporting and systems through technology, automation, advanced spreadsheet tools and AI.

The Person : A recognised accounting qualification. Solid experience in management accounting and financial reporting. Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills. The ability to analyse financial information and identify what is driving performance. Excellent attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger commercial picture. Confidence dealing with senior stakeholders and colleagues across different areas of the business. A naturally inquisitive approach.
