Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Fitter / WelderNorthern Ireland. Please note that for this role you must be able to travel between sites in Northern Ireland and, if needed, to be able to travel to the Republic of Ireland.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time, embracing the ethos of a “one team” culture.
- Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental standards, policies and procedures always adhere.
- Review design‑stage mechanical drawings and P& validate designs, familiarise with the project, and spot issues before they arise; provide input and feedback on design to contribute to DfMA efficiencies.
- Work well on own initiative with a good work ethos to achieve a high production output.
- Complete tanks, sub‑assemblies & small parts as required.
- Maintain quantity and quality of work to a high standard, free of defects and with attention to detail.
- Problem‑solve and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Complete all test documentation and inspection and test plans (ITPs) as required.
- Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.
- Actively participate in product and process improvement by providing lessons learned feedback and innovative solutions for adoption on future projects.
- Other duties as required from time to time.
- Maintain neatness and good housekeeping skills.
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience working in a similar role.
- Experienced in TIG welding with flat, folded, and pipe projects.
- Ability to liaise on a technical level with the Engineering Department to support product improvements.
- Must have basic weld polishing & cleaning experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to manage time when given a work list, including continuous feedback to the line manager on work close‑out.
- Main thicknesses used are 1mm to 6mm, so the applicant must be comfortable working on light materials.
- Use own initiative, problem‑solve, and adjust as issues arise.
